To be creative and stay creative, we need the motivation and passion to constantly challenge our brain with reading difficult books and engage with new ideas. For that purpose a hunger for knowledge is essential.
The times to come demand from our generation more knowledge and a better understanding of things. The internet gives us lots of resources so the first thing we're going to need is focus and self discipline. Mixing the two with motivation will help us build a schedule that will allow us to make the best of our time. For those struggling with time management I would recommend David Allen's talk ''Getting things done''. We may have different approaches and strategies but passion is what will ultimately show who will make the most progress.
One more important thing we need when learning is patience. We must give more importance to the small steps that has led us forward. The internet also gives us the chance to surround ourselves with people with the same interests we have and we should use this to our advantage to start discussion about our own ideas. Hearing the opinion from others we don't personally know will result in a more honest and constructive feedback which is also a great way to connect with each other.
The quote I want to share this week is by the Chinese philosopher Lao Tzu: “The journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step.”
What has motivated you to start your own journey?
